It’s been a terrific last 12 months for local TV Company Viva TV with a record number of local projects, working on their first movie and travelling round Europe for both, the Foreign Office and the European Powerlifting Federation. And 2016 is shaping up to be even better! Following the huge success of the EPF Powerlifting events and widespread acclamation of the production quality this month, in addition to extending their contract with the EPF, Viva TV were awarded the contract to provide live broadcast facilities for the International Powerlifting Federation championships worldwide.
Dietmar Wolf from the IPF said “The International Olympic Committee are looking closely at powerlifting as a whole organization with a view to including the sport into the Olympics. A key part of the IOC scrutiny is how the sport is accessed and perceived by the public so it is vital that the broadcast of our events is top drawer.” He added “Having seen Viva TV’s coverage and involvement last year in our European events it is clear that they are the right company to help move the sport forward worldwide”.
2016 will see Viva TV travelling round the world covering all the IPF’s major championships which include events in Poland, Denmark, Texas and Orlando.
Ralph Farquharson, Secretary General of the EPF said “Over the last 18months we have worked very closely with Richard Haywood and his team developing ideas to make the sport more attractive to sponsors and viewers and I couldn’t be happier that Viva TV have now become an integral part of the worldwide media team.”
Richard added “As wonderful as this opportunity is for us we mustn’t forget that this is all about Powerlifting and about demonstrating to the IOC that this is a terrific all-inclusive sport for both men and women that encompasses all ages, sizes and physical abilities.”
