The European Powerlifting Federation and Italian Powerlifting Federation welcome you to Borgaro Torinese, Italy for the 11th Western European Championships 2016, from 8 - 10 September.
In the history of the European Powerlifting Federation, this is the first Equipped and Classic/Raw combined Powerlifting Championships.
We welcome 111 athletes, 68 males and 43 females, from 11 nations to Borgaro Torinese, Italy to fight for Western European titles and Team Cups.
For the Equipped Championships there will be 55 athletes competing, broken down to 35 males and 20 females, and for Classic Championships 56 athletes, consisting of 33 males and 23 females.
All athletes have been selected for their impressive capacities shown on European level, promising quite a performance in this event.
The location of Borgaro Torinese stands just 15km from Torino and offers interesting sites, like the marvellous Saint Cristina castle, built in the XVII century, and the 100-hectare Chico Mendes Park. The city presents also a curious and unique water powered clock in Piazza Europa and a Fiat 500 “Topolino” located on a roundabout in Via Lanzo.
Just 15 minutes away by bus from the hotel, there’s another must-see location, the Palace of Venaria (Reggia di Venaria Reale), a former royal residence built from 1675, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997.
The hotel and the venue are just 800m from each other and easily reachable.
