EUROPEAN OPEN/JUNIOR/SUB-JUNIOR/MASTERS CLASSIC AND EQUIPPED BENCH PRESS CHAMPIONSHIPS, BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

The European Powerlifting Federation and Hungary Powerlifting Federation welcome you to the European Open/ Sub Junior/Junior/Master Classic and Equipped Bench Press Championships,  Budapest, Hungary,   2nd to 7th August 2022.

689 athletes will be competing for the coveted medals. 420 males and 269 females will be present from 21 European nations.

Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the River Danube. It is currently one of Europe's most important capital cities. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, where the Budapest History Museum traces city life from Roman times onward. Trinity Square is home to 13th-century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fishermen’s Bastion, which offer sweeping views.

Explore the city’s historical streets and you will discover why Budapest is called the Pearl of the Danube and why over 7 million tourists visit it every year. The Hungarian capital will fascinate you.

Hungarian cuisine is typically seasoned with various spices, especially paprika.  Goulash soup is the country’s most famous dish. And why not combine two different experiences and enjoy a dinner and cruise at the same time!

In AD 89, the Romans founded Aquincum on the old Celtic settlement, where Óbuda is currently located.  The word Aquincum comes from the word “aqua” due to its numerous thermal springs, which centuries later, in 1934, would give Budapest the title of “City of Spas”.  Budapest is a city you can visit by foot, but, if you don't want to walk, or don't have time, with the two tram lines and four metro lines you can easily get to the main points of interest.
